GABRIELS - The Paul Smith's men's rugby team rolled to a 57-3 victory over SUNY Oneonta on Saturday at the Gabriels Recreation Park.
The Bobcats took a 7-0 lead when Dane Riva scored 12 minutes into the match. Oneonta tallied two minutes later with a penalty kick that brought the score to 7-3.
Neither team scored for the next 10 minutes until Coty Tomkins tallied to set the score at 14-3. Paul Smith's then stepped up the intensity as Tompkins, Riva and Kyle Christensen each recorded trys.

Keegan Pflumm, Ethan Kerr, Justin Prado and Riva tacked on trys and Nate Flynn converted 6 of 9 kicks as the Bobcats ran away with the game.
The Paul Smith's pack led by Elias Carter, Brandon Aschmutat and Nate Mills were instrumental in controlling the ball.
The Bobcats will bring their 2-0 record into next Saturday's road game against Potsdam.

PAUL SMITHS - The Paul Smith's College men's soccer team continued its strong start to the season this weekend with two victories on their home field.
The Bobcats beat St. Joseph's College 6-0 on Saturday, then came back Sunday with a 1-0 victory over New Hampshire Technical Institute.
Steve Rathbun, a senior from Binghamton, scored the only goal of Saturday's game in the fifth minute.
"It was quite the defensive battle from there," said Paul Smith's coach Bryan Mallette. "It was a hard-fought conference win."
The two wins boosted Paul Smith's record to 3-0 on the season. The Bobcats are 2-0 in Yankee Small College Conference games.
Paul Smith's returns to action Saturday at home against Hampshire College then hit the road Sunday for a game against NHTI in Concord, N.H.
North Country 2, Broome CC 0
SARANAC LAKE - The North County Community College men's soccer team improved to 2-1-1 on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Broome County Community College.
Justin Bergman scored in the first two minutes on an assist from Kane Morgan, and Jaime Flores-Castellon tallied 10 minutes later to account for all the game's scoring.
Saints goalkeeper Drew Garnaut stopped all six of the shots on goal he faced. North Country held an 18-13 overall shots advantage.

PAUL SMITHS - The Paul Smith's College women's soccer team suffered its first Yankee Small College Conference defeat Sunday with a 2-1 loss to New Hampshire Technical Institute.
Sophomore Natalie Palko gave the Bobcats a 1-0 advantage 23 minutes into Sunday's game on a pass from Jennifer Maguder. NHTI responded with a goal just before the half and Cassie LaCroix netted the game winner in the 85th minute.
Asenath Brooks made eight saves in goal for the Bobcats. Carissa Pelletier patrolled the goal for NHTI and stopped five shots.
Paul Smith's is 1-1 in YSCC games and 4-2 overall. NHTI is 2-0 in conference games.
Broome CC 3, North Country 0
SARANAC LAKE - Broome County set the tone early and never looked back Saturday in a 3-0 victory over North Country.
Danielle Tyrrell, Kelsie Gooding and Kendra Zacharias scored first half goals and Ariel Roys stopped all five shots on goal she face to lead Broome, which is the top-ranked team in the country.
Broome outshot the Saints 18-2 in the first half and 27-9 overall.
BENNINGTON, Vt. - Paul Smith's College freshman Chloe Mattilio outran the field Saturday to take the top spot in the Southern Vermont Mountaineer Invitational.
Mattilio, of Lancaster, Pa., finished the 5-kilometer course in 21 minutes, 3 seconds to beat out second-place Megan Mydosh of SUNY Canton who crossed the line in 21:55.
Ashley Evans was the next-best finisher for Paul Smith's, crossing the line in 22:49 for fifth place. Corrie Desilets finished 15th in 24:09, Jessie Husmann finished 18th in 24:26 and Lea Anthony was 33rd in 26:14.
The Paul Smith's women finished third out of eight teams.
On the men's side, Louis Ferrone III was the top Paul Smith's finisher. He placed 20th in a field of 65 with a time of 19:58.
Isaac French of Castelton won the men's race in 17:56.
Other Bobcats runners were Dave Kucia (20:20), Zach Davidson (20:46), Tim Grossman (20:57), Jack Mulvihill (20:57), Chris Peterson (20:58), Llewellyn Palmer (21:01) and Matt Williams (21:04).
