Homeward Bound gives thanks for help

September 11, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

To the editor:

Homeward Bound Adirondacks, committed to serving the needs of veterans, service members and military families, extends a heartfelt thank-you to the volunteers and local sponsors that made their fundraising party on Aug. 23 such a success.

St. Joe's treatment center set up a large tent and tables at Kat and Bill Larzelere's Camp Balsam on Lake Placid, where a large, congenial group learned about the Veterans Reintegration Academy, a unique educational program designed to meet the needs of veteran students, opening in 2014 in Saranac Lake.

Delicious food from Nonna Fina Restaurant, beer from High Peaks Distributing and wine from Adirondack Wine & Liquor were served. Tops Market donated sodas and paper products, and Party Plus provided an efficient setup for plates. The success of this event is due to the dedicated and generous folks in our community. We are grateful for all contributors - you are much appreciated.
