Tupper volleyball drops five-gamer

TUPPER LAKE - The Tupper Lake volleyball team dropped a hard-fought, five-game match against Salmon River on Friday night.

Salmon River won the first game 25-16 and the Lumberjacks tied it up with a 27-25 win in the second game. Salmon River took a 2-1 lead with a 25-20 third game, before Tupper Lake tied it up again with a 25-18 victory in the fourth game.

Salmon River secured the match with a 25-16 win in the fifth game.

Jessica Friend led the way for the Lumberjacks with seven aces, 12 service points, six kills and two blocks. Teammate Sidney Kulzer chipped in four aces 10 points and three kills and Jessica Weigan had six points and 14 digs.

The Lumberjacks return to action Tuesday at home against Chateaugay.
