Van Slyke’s painting chosen for NYC exhibit

LAKE PLACID - Ingrid Van Slyke's pastel Painting "A Simpler Time" was chosen by The Pastel Society of America's 41st Annual exhibition: "Enduring Brilliance."

The show will be held at the National Arts Club and Pastel Society of America main gallery in New York City from Sept. 3-28.

There were more than 1,000 entries for the show which was juried by PSA and fewer than 180 paintings were selected.

Entries were from all 50 states and included such countries as Egypt, China, Canada and Spain.

Van Slyke and her family live in Lake Placid. She is a member of the Adirondack Pastel Society and a juried Associate member of the Pastel Society of America. Other accomplishments this year includes an award at the National Pastel Show presented at the VIEW in Old Forge.
