Chaz Depaolo will perform three local venues

August 8, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

New Jersey based Blues guitarist Chaz Depaolo is no stranger to the North Country. He first came to the Adirondacks, Lake Placid to be specific, in a major snow storm back in 2006.

Depaolo gave three concerts, including a mid- day acoustic show at the Northwoods Inn, and since then has never stayed away too long.

He and his band performed at all three of the Mountain Music Meltdowns along with such well known greats as Doc Watson, The New Riders of The Purple Sage, Commander Cody, Leon Russell, and Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen.

Over the years he has traveled and played almost non-stop. He regularly performs in England, Ireland, Poland, and other countries in Europe. On this side of the pond, his normal circuit takes him throughout the Northeast, down through the Carolinas, throughout Quebec and Ontario, and out to Colorado several times a year.

He's opened for Buddy Guy, done a two-week tour of Hawaii with Commander Cody, and toured extensively playing lead guitar with the Groundhogs and for Jimi Hendrix's brother Leon. Chaz has been the headliner at numerous Blues festivals.

Last year, Depaolo was honored with induction into the Blues Hall of Fame New York Chapter. He is working on his fifth CD release, and a live DVD ( sound engineering by George Viscome, Lake Placid) will be available shortly.

Depaolo doesn't shy away from hard topics when it comes to lyrics. He has faced down addictions and depression and the loss of two of his siblings; in short, he has lived the blues and that comes out in his music. He wears his heart on his shirt sleeve, and pours it out on his guitar strings and in the words of his songs.

Depaolo and band back to the North Country for four shows in three days in the Tri-Lakes area. On Aug. 15, Depaolo will perform at Tail of The Pup in Ray Brook during dinner hours. On Aug. 16 and Aug. 17, Depaolo will perform at 10 p.m. at Zig Zags. On Aug. 17 from 3 to 7 p.m., Depaolo will perform at the Cloud Spin Lounge at Whiteface Mountain in Wilmington.
