LAKE GEORGE (AP) - The longtime mayor of a tourist village on a popular Adirondack lake says no one was hurt when he ran his motor boat into a rock during a nighttime excursion.
Village of Lake George Mayor Robert Blais tells The Post-Star of Glens Falls (http://bit.ly/18NySbj ) that he and six passengers were heading home from a restaurant on the northern end of the lake when his 24-foot boat ran aground Saturday night just north of the village.
Blais said the boat sustained some damage but its hull was intact. He said a light used to illuminate a buoy marking the rock at night was out.
The Lake George Park Commission investigated the accident. No tickets were issued.
Blais has been mayor of Lake George since 1971.
