TUPPER LAKE - The town-village planning board on Wednesday granted two special use permits for hair salons.

Te Jay, owner of New Beginnings hair salon, and property owners Chuck and Ruth Damp, put in their request after Jay moved her business to its new location at 203 Park St. Jay sold the building on Lake Street, the former site of her business, to Aubuchon Hardware.

Jennifer Tice and property owner Amy LaLonde also received a special-use permit for a hair salon at 35 Wawbeek Ave.

"I think there's going to be a lot of nice hair in Tupper Lake," said board member Bob Collier.
