July 4, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

SARANAC LAKE - Dr. Richard Pyle, of Oahu, Hawaii, will present a free video on the dinofish (Coelacanth) at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Saranac?Lake Free Library. He will be available after the video for questions regarding his personal encounter with a living Dinofish, estimated to be a 65 million year old species.

Dr. Pyle, a zoologist at the Bishop Museum in Honolulu, prefers to dive into the 'Twilight Zone' at 250-350 foot depths.

His expert use of advanced-mixed-gas scuba like Rebreather technology, allows him to explore and discover new aquatic species, capture live specimens and examine the state of ocean coral reefs.

He has been featured in numerous films, including the Imax production of "Coral Reef Adventure", and honored in Esquire Magazine's 2004 issue of "America's Best and Brightest 39 Visionaries, Rebels and Leaders."
