Samuel J. Zaidan

Samuel Joseph Zaidan, 62, of 42 Lindsay Ave., Tupper Lake, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, June 21.

He was born Dec. 24, 1951 in West Roxbury, Mass., the son of Joseph and Alice (Salamy) Zaidan and attended schools in Boston.

Sam came to Tupper Lake 40 years ago to make his home and was employed by C.E.L. Lumber Company. He was a longtime carpenter, chef and business owner here.

He was a member of the Spring Hill Hunting Club, enjoyed woodworking, gardening, cooking, hunting, working in his workshop and being with his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Alice Zaidan, and one sister, June Zaidan, both of West Roxbury, Mass.; his wife of 23 years, Darlene Zaidan of Tupper Lake; three sons: Jeremy Zaidan, Christopher Zaidan and his wife Lynn of Tupper Lake, and Aaron Zaidan of Essex Junction, Vt.; two grandchildren: Sireea and James Christopher Zaidan of Tupper Lake; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Sam was predeceased by his father, Joseph Zaidan, and one brother, Anthony Zaidan.

Services will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, June 21 at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Tupper Lake with a reception immediately following at the VFW Club.

Donations may be made in Sam's memory to the VFW or the Tupper Lake Emergency Squad.
