TUPPER LAKE - Janet Mary Baker, 77, of Tupper Lake, passed away with her loved ones by her side on Friday, May 31, 2013, at her home at Ivy Terrace.
Born June 26, 1935, in Amsterdam, N.Y., she was the daughter of David and Hazel (St. Amour) Exware. On May 16, 1959, she married Ozie Baker. Together they had four children: Johnny Baker of Saranac Lake, Hazel McLear of McMinvelle, Tenn., and Janet and Ozie Baker of Tupper Lake; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren who she was able to see shortly before she passed; and brothers and sisters: Alice LaFlamme, Brenda Hoffman, Fred Exware and Rita Corrow, all of Tupper Lake, Harold Exware of Potsdam, Cicile Lavore of Fabius, Mary Jane of Tully, Ronald of Youngsville, N.C., Donald of Wheatfield, Mass., and Patricia Wellspek.
Janet was a homemaker all of her life, enjoying spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved to cook.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, at Holy Name Cemetery.
