Starting today, the newsstand price of the Adirondack Daily Enterprise will increase by a quarter: from 50 to 75 cents from Monday through Friday and from $1 to $1.25 for the Saturday-Sunday issue.
The last weekday newsstand price increase took place in 1995, when the Enterprise launched the Saturday-Sunday issue, going from five days a week to six. It was also around the same time the paper started printing in color.
"The value of reading the newspaper certainly is worth a lot more than you may realize," Publisher Catherine Moore said. "After all, what can you purchase for 75 cents that feeds you with knowledge, connects you with the community, entertains you at your leisure, saves you money from sales flyers and is the watchdog, standing up for your concerns?"
