SARANAC LAKE - This summer, the 15th annual Saranac Lake's Third Thursday Art Walks will return to downtown Saranac Lake on June 20, July 18, Aug. 15 and Sept. 19, all from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
As in past years, Saranac Lake village streets, shops, galleries, studios and parks will host many varied talents of local and regional artists in celebration of the visual, literary and performing arts. The Art Walks are free, self-guided tours through downtown where artists from all over the North Country display their work in a festive evening atmosphere.
New this year, courtesy of the Adirondack Scenic Railroad, is an Art Walk Train available for each monthly event. This train will bring visitors from Lake Placid to Saranac Lake in time to enjoy each Art Walk, and even ahead of time in July, August and September to allow visitors to shop and/or dine in the local eateries prior to each event.
At this time, the call is going out to local or regional artists, musicians, poets and performers who want to participate in any part or all of the Art Walks this summer.
