Claire DelNegro chosen interim CEO of USA Luge

Former British luger was assistant housing director for 1980 Lake Placid Olympic Organizing Committee

LAKE PLACID (AP) - Claire DelNegro has been appointed interim chief executive officer of USA Luge.

A former luger for Great Britain, DelNegro is a veteran of more than three decades in sports management at the Olympic level. Her involvement at the organizational level began in 1978, when she served as assistant director of housing for the Lake Placid Olympic Organizing Committee. She also served as a member of the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee in the Press Services division.

DelNegro returns to familiar ground, having worked for USA Luge for 11 years. She also was director of sliding sports for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games served two years as CEO of the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation.

USA Luge continues to search for a full-time CEO.
