Injuries reported from Ray Brook collision

RAY BROOK - Multiple injuries were reported this afternoon following a collision involving two vehicles on state Route 86.

The collision happened near the entrance to the Saranac Lake Golf Club driving range. Both vehicles - a silver Honda sedan and a silver minivan - sustained heavy damage. The Enterprise couldn't immediately determine the extent of the injuries to the drivers and passengers, and their names aren't yet available.

The Saranac Lake and Lake Placid rescue squads responded to the scene and transported patients to local hospitals. Volunteer firefighters from Saranac Lake and Lake Placid were conducting traffic control as of about 2:30 p.m.

Ray Brook-based state police are investigating the cause of the accident.
