Why buy locally?

April 12, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

To the editor:

Casier Furniture and Appliances is a short answer (to the headline question). Can you imagine how well it would turn out if anything you purchased from a "big box" store turned out to be a "lemon"?

We did not have that problem when a name-brand bed purchased from Casier failed after a few years' use, despite the fact that the manufacturer was initially reluctant to honor its warranty. Rudy and Mark, father and son owners, "went to bat" for us, within two weeks the warranty was honored at the 100 percent level, and we had a comfortable new bed. We also had our faith in the value of buying locally reinforced.

Tri-Lakes residents are fortunate to have many local businesses like Casier that stand behind their products and support their communities. As residents, we all have a long list in mind and know where to turn. We are double winners when we buy locally.
