SARANAC LAKE - Village police have arrested a third suspect in the burglary of a local business.

An 18-year-old male from Saranac Lake was charged with third-degree burglary, a felony, and misdemeanor petit larceny at 7:33 p.m. Tuesday. The teen's name was not released because he may be eligible for youthful offender status.

Police said he and two other suspects - a 17-year-old male and 23-year-old Joshua Whitty, both of Saranac Lake - stole several bottles of liquor from the business, which police have not named. The burglary occurred sometime during the night of March 17 or the early morning hours of March 18, police said.

Whitty and the 17-year-old were arrested earlier this week on similar charges.

The 18-year-old was processed at the police station, arraigned in village court and remanded to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.
