Dinner raised $2,600 for animal shelter

March 25, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

To the editor:

One of the goals at the Tri-Lakes Humane Society is to promote spaying and neutering of pets in order to help reduce the pet overpopulation problem in the Tri-Lakes region. At the heart of that effort is our Spay/Neuter Voucher Fund that allows us to give families throughout the region some financial assistance towards getting their dogs and cats spayed and neutered.

We want to thank Dr. Alison Flanigan and the wonderful staff at the Lake Placid Animal Hospital for recently hosting a spaghetti dinner fundraiser to benefit the Spay/Neuter Fund. The dinner and accompanying raffle raised more than $2,600 - WOW!

We also want to thank St. Agnes School for lending their kitchen and dining room for the event; Ashley's Cafe, Howard Johnson's, Price Chopper and Hyde Fuel for donating the food and supplies; John Casamassima and Caitlyn Barney for their help in the kitchen; the many folks and businesses that donated desserts and raffle prizes; and the Tri-Lakes community for again showing their support for all of our four-legged furry friends.

Many thanks!

Melinda Little
