MALONE - A Saranac Lake man pleaded not guilty Monday to a charge that he sexually abused a woman in November of last year.
John Sovey, 46, was indicted March 7 by a Franklin County grand jury on a charge of first-degree sexual abuse, a felony.
Village police arrested Sovey on the same charge in November after he allegedly forced his hand into the pants of a woman and, after being told to stop, forcibly touched her genitals.
He was arraigned on the charge Monday before county court Judge Robert G. Main Jr. Sovey entered a not-guilty plea and the case was adjourned pending a March 28 court conference.
