SARANAC LAKE - The Saranac Lake Middle School Drama Club is performing Eunice and Grant Atkinson's play, "The Perfect Idiot" at 7 p.m. March 6, 7 and 8 at Pendragon Theatre, directed by Laura Warden.
The play is about a high school genius whose only wish is to leave high school and attend college, but his parents refuse. To convince them he is ready to go he formulates a plan to become popular, proving he is socially adjusted and able to attend college. Except things don't quite work out that way and he is left with an even bigger dilemma on his hands.
Having the play at Pendragon Theatre continues an alliance between Pendragon and the Drama Club. The fact that they are performing in a real Theatre with dressing rooms gives the kids a boost. The acoustics and lighting are much better and the school group can use any props/set pieces they need. Pendragon also provides other technical assistance.
