Gerald L. "Jerry" Estes, 77, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013.
Mr. Estes was born in Saranac Lake, and moved to DeLand, Fla., in 1967.
He was a draftsman for Sherwood Medical Industries, where he had 24 years of service. Mr. Estes served in the U.S. Army National Guard, and he loved to go fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marlene; three sons: Steven of DeLand, Fla., Wayne of Orange City, Fla., and Timothy of South Daytona; one daughter, Mary Lou Moyer of Orange City, Fla.; one sister, Dorothy Decker of Port Orange, Fla.; one brother, Richard of North Dakota; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family received friends Feb. 22 at Lankford Funeral Home, 220 E. New York Ave. in DeLand. A memorial Mass was celebrated Feb. 23 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 359 W. New York Ave. in DeLand.
Local arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Memorial donations may be made to the to St. Peter's Catholic Church Food Pantry, Deland, Fla.
