To the editor:
This is in response to the recent articles regarding the financial issues reported by the Adirondack Daily Enterprise. Even after the corrections were printed, what is not evident in the article is the total commitment of Tom and Susan Lawson to restoring the vitality of Tupper Lake. A case in point is the Adirondack Public Observatory, which has its offices on Park Street in Tupper Lake in a building owned by the Lawsons. For more than two years now, this office space has been donated to the APO without charge, including the utilities.
It is obvious to the most casual observers that the Lawsons love the community of Tupper Lake and have taken it upon themselves to do things quietly, in the background and without fanfare, to improve this community. Any time that Tom and Susan talk about their plans for Tupper Lake, one can see the pure excitement of being willing and able to do something positive for their village. So thank you, Tom and Susan, for your interest, concern and investment in the future of Tupper Lake.
President, Adirondack Public Observatory
