Keene Valley Fire Chief Rusty Hall presents a check for $3,000 to Keene Fire Chief Jody Whitney at the Keene Volunteer Fire Department annual banquet Saturday. Keene lost its fire station in August 2011 during Tropical Storm Irene, when flood water from Gulf Brook ripped away the back of the building. The Keene department is building a new fire station on state Route 73 at the site of the former Mountain Manor Inn, across from Stewart’s.
