LAKE PLACID - One person was taken to the hospital early Saturday evening after a car crash here.
The Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department responded to a one-car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Mirror Lake Drive and George and Bliss Lane at 4:10 p.m. Saturday with one truck and 16 members. Ray Brook-based state police responded to the scene and reported that one person was transported to Adirondack Medical Center in Lake Placid for evaluation.
Police said the driver - 55-year-old Richard A. Verreault of Montreal, Quebec - apparently lost control of a 2012 Mercedes 350 sport-utility vehicle, went off the road and struck a snow bank, causing the vehicle to go airborne. Police said the SUV went over a stone wall before striking a motorboat.

Police couldn't provide additional information about the crash this morning. The extent of Verreault's injuries couldn't be immediately determined.
Firefighters conducted traffic control until the scene could be cleared. Crews were back in service by 4:55 p.m.
