Young Artists' Open Minded Mic Night

SARANAC LAKE - BluSeed Studios will host the first Young Artists' Open Minded Mic Night from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday with hosts Invasive Species.

All varieties of talent are invited from the North Country to attend. Up to 12 performers ages 13 to 19 or eighth to 12th grades are invited to share their voice and ideas in a professional acoustic setting.

The evening host band Invasive Species, hails from Saranac Lake. This progressive rock band evolved from the punk rock trio The Infamous. Comprised of Saranac Lake high school students Hudson Gray, Travis Buck, Cameron Czadzeck and Peter Curtis, the band developed a unique sound drawing influence from a wide spectrum of artists, including Cynic, Nirvana, Tool, Smashing Pumpkins, Coldplay, Rubblebucket, Meshuggah, and many others.

The next Youth Open Minded Mic Night will be Saturday, Feb. 16. The evening starts at 7:30 p.m. Performer sign up is limited to 12 and begins at 7 p.m.
