LAKE GEORGE (AP) - Authorities say they've charged five people and seized more than 2 pounds of cocaine while busting up a drug ring operating in the southern Adirondacks.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office tells The Post-Star of Glens Falls that police seized about 2 1/2 pounds of cocaine over a one-week span in the neighboring towns of Lake Luzerne and Lake George.

Officials say the leader of the drug ring was 28-year-old Michael Verlinger of Lake Luzerne, where police say they found most of the cocaine. He pleaded not guilty to the charges during his arraignment Wednesday.

Among the others arrested on drug charges is a 54-year-old man from Queensbury who owns Longshots bar and restaurant in Lake George. Police say the bar was the site of drug sales.
