To the editor:
I am very much in support of the proposed skatepark. Small towns do not always have enough options for teenage fun, or what fun there is may involve a lot of gear (skiing, hockey, kayaking, rock climbing, etc). A skatepark gives young people a place to not only get their energy out but to express themselves as well.
A skatepark would show our kids that we, as a town, value them, that we hear their desire for a healthy place to play. Perhaps even one day, some all-star skate legend may just be thanking this small town of Saranac Lake for giving him or her a start!
