To the editor:
The Lake Placid Child Care Committee would like to thank the many families and friends of the Lake Placid After School Program for the generous donation of their time and effort to the Lake Placid Child Care Committee After School Program annual pancake breakfast fundraiser.
Your donation helped raise money to pay for field trips and other special activities for the students. The fundraiser was a big success, and we appreciate you being a part of it! It means so much to us and our after-school children to know that you care enough to contribute to our program.
Thanks to the following people for their help: elementary school Principal Javier Perez, Randy Richards, Royce Lawrence, Shane Barry, Jason Barney, Diane Brenner, Leann Matos, Erin Horton and Meg McCandlish.
Thanks to the following businesses for their donations: Dunkin' Donuts, Howard Johnson's, Cornell sugar maple farm, U.S. Foods and Steve Reid, Price Chopper of Lake Placid, Hannaford of Lake Placid, McDonald's and Crowne Plaza.
And, of course, thanks to all who attended our breakfast!
The Lake Placid Child Care Committee, which oversees Lake Placid Elementary School's After School Program, is a nonprofit, state-licensed child-care program open to all students in grades K-5 in the Lake Placid Central School District.
Our program offers a safe, creative and nurturing environment for students whose parents' schedules require them to seek after-school care. We strive to help students be successful in school, at home and in the community.
The program is designed to meet the needs of young people, offering various recreational and cultural activities to enrich personal interests, to promote social, emotional and intellectual growth while supporting overall health and well-being.
