SARANAC LAKE - The village of Saranac Lake Board of Trustees saluted some of the Saranac Lake Central School District's top student-athletes at its meeting Monday night.
Mayor Clyde Rabideau congratulated cross country runner Elena Beideck on her fourth-straight visit to the state Class C championship meet this year. Beideck, a senior, also competed on the Red Storm nordic ski team and girls lacrosse team.
Rabideau also congratulated members of the Red Storm varsity football team, above, for winning their third straight Class C title this year. He noted that 15 of the team's members were recently named Champlain Valley Athletic Conference all-stars, with seniors Matt Phelan and Michael Burpoe receiving offensive and defensive player of the year honors, respectively.
