To the editor:
The recent election results shows the value of your weekly Web Poll. Poll said Bisso 48 percent, actually 21 percent; Duprey 35 percent, actually 53 percent, etc. I get that you are encouraging readers to give their opinions anonymously. Isn't that the American way? No reason to stand behind your opinion.
If your goal is to have readers share their opinions, then make your questions open-ended, such as, "Who would make the best representative for the 115th Assembly District and why?" This avoids the misleading percentages and your fine-print warning that the poll is not (in any way) scientific. Insist that there are real names attached, and maybe you would get opinions worth publishing. Sorry, BlackIce.
