The Area 27 Special Olympics softball team — the Adirondack Rednecks — pose for a picture with members of the Captain Cook’s women’s team following their annual exhibition game in early September. The Rednecks, which is comprised of players from Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake and Cranberry Lake, had a successful season, taking first place in a regional Special Olympics tournament held in Glens Falls on Sept. 29 and second in a Malone tournament.
