One injured as car hits tree

TUPPER LAKE - Village police and the Tupper Lake Volunteer Fire Department responded to a one-car motor vehicle crash at 255 Park St. at 9:16 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said the vehicle struck a tree near the Park Restaurant and one person was injured with non-life-threatening injuries to the head. The person was transported to Adirondack Medical Center.

The crash is still under investigation. Police said they weren't sure if any tickets would be issued.

The fire department responded with one truck and 30 members, and they assisted the rescue squad at the scene and disconnected the battery of the vehicle.
