To the editor:
There are many reasons why I will vote for Bob Bevilacqua in November. He is honest, thoughtful and cautious with our tax dollars. Bob listens to the residents. He hears them, and he represents their concerns. Bob is a successful business owner, and he has proven that he understands the principles of business, job creation and regional economics. He has served our community on the school board and board of assessment review, and is on his second term as a member of the Harrietstown board. In every instance, Bob has been successful serving our community on these boards. In short, I trust Bob Bevilacqua to represent me, my family and my community.
I question the abilities of the other candidate. At no time did Mr. Catillaz ever reduce taxes while in public office. Yet he chose the moniker "Tax Cut" Tom. In my opinion, this was misleading to the voters. His attendance record at meetings while recently serving as village trustee is unacceptable to me. I question how this community will maintain checks and balances between the town and the village if Mr. Catillaz and Mayor Rabideau are successful in their goal to get him elected to the town board as well.
The town of Harrietstown and the village of Saranac Lake comprise my community. I want both to succeed for our collective future. Councilman Bevilacqua is the best candidate to make sure that happens. I ask that you join me in selecting Bob Bevilacqua as our next Harrietstown supervisor.
