Owens finds common ground

October 30, 2012
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

To the editor:

Bill Owens has my vote for Congress in the 21st District, and here's why. Bill is a consistent voice for bipartisanship who has worked across the aisle to find common ground between the parties.

Health care is a perfect example. Bill believes "Obamacare" was a good first step to lower costs and give more people access to quality health care, and he is working hard to protect programs like Medicare and Social Security. At the same time, Bill is working across the aisle to fix the parts of the health care law that just don't work. He's putting people over party to get things done, something leaders in Washington have had failed to do for too long.

More than this, Bill Owens isn't a career politician. He's an Air Force veteran, a businessman and a father who ran for office for the very first time after a long career in his community. He's worked hard to help bring jobs to Clinton County throughout his career, and as a congressman he has worked even harder to stay in touch with the people he represents, holding town hall meetings across a huge district. I know that if we send Bill back to Congress, he'll continue putting his own constituents over special interests and party leaders, and he'll continue working to help create jobs across the district. I hope you'll join me in supporting Bill Owens for Congress on Nov. 6.
