Police name drug bust suspects

SARANAC LAKE - Village police have released the names of nine people arrested Friday as part a roundup of suspected drug dealers in the community.

Eight of the suspects were taken into custody early Friday morning during a series of Franklin County Northern Border Narcotics Task Force raids at homes and apartment houses throughout the village. Another suspect turned himself in at the village police station Friday night.

Most of the suspects are from Saranac Lake, with others hailing from Lake Placid, Tupper Lake and Plattsburgh. The drugs they were allegedly selling and/or found in possession of included prescription narcotics, cocaine and marijuana. Police provided mugshots of six of the defendants, who are listed below in the order provided by the Saranac Lake Police Department:

Kenton C. Seaquist, 27, of Plattsburgh, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, both of which are felonies. Police said the controlled substance Seaquist sold was the prescription drug Suboxone. He was transported to Franklin County Court to be arraigned on an indictment warrant.

Ryan S. Morgan, 38, of Saranac Lake, was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies. Police said Morgan was found in possession of about 2 grams of cocaine, the same drug he's accused of selling, when he was arrested. Morgan was remanded to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.

Heth H. Graham, 51, of Saranac Lake, was charged with with two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police said Graham sold cocaine and was found in possession of 3-and-a-half ounces of the drug when he was arrested at his residence. He was remanded to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.

Francis J. O'Dell, 41, of Saranac Lake, was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance for allegedly selling the prescription drug Oxycontin and two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He also faces two counts of fourth-degree conspiracy and a single count of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, both of which are felonies, for allegedly selling methadone. O'Dell was remanded to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

Pierre A. Suzanne, 53, of Saranac Lake was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance for allegedly selling hydromorphone. He also faces counts of fourth-degree conspiracy and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Suzanne was remanded to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

George H. LaFountain III, 34, of Tupper Lake, was charged with fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance for allegedly selling Alprazolam, a prescription drug used to treat anxiety disorders. He was also charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and fifth-degree conspiracy, a misdemeanor. LaFountain was remanded to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

Jessica A. Cahill, 22, of Lake Placid was allegedly found in possession of hydromorphone. She was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and possession of a controlled substance not in its original container, a public health law violation. She was processed and released on an appearance ticket for village court on Oct. 29.

Melinda L. Duprey, 18, of Saranac Lake, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. She was issued an appearance ticket for village court on Oct. 29.

Timothy Machain, 32, of Saranac Lake, turned himself in to police Friday night. He allegedly sold fentanyl patches and was charged with criminal sale of a narcotic drug. Machain had yet to be arraigned as of press time.

Law enforcement agencies involved in the drug bust included village police, state police, Franklin and Clinton County sheriff's deputies, Tupper Lake village police, U.S. Border Patrol and investigators with the Franklin County District Attorney's Office. A state police helicopter was also deployed during the roundup.

Police Chief Bruce Nason, in a statement, said the investigation is continuing and more arrests are possible.

"The arrests today were completed without incident and efficiently, due to the cooperative efforts of all the agencies involved," Nason said.

The chief singled out two of his officers, Casey Reardon and Jason Swain, who he said were instrumental in the investigation. Nason also thanked the public for information that led to the arrests of several of the suspects.
