Elizabeth Adele (Root) Leroux, 86, passed away at her home under Hospice care in Acworth, Ga., on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, after a short illness. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Affectionately called "Bet" or "Betty," by friends and family, she was born at her home on Wawbeek Avenue in Tupper Lake on Sept. 5, 1926, the 10th of 18 children, to the late Ernest J. Sr. and Mary E. (Bishop) Root.
Visitation will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at SouthCare Marietta Chapel, 595 Franklin Rd., Marietta, GA 30067. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at St. Catherine's of Sienna Catholic Church. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Georgia National Cemetary, off Hwy. 20, 1080 Veteran's Cemetary Road, Canton, Ga.
