CANTON - The following students have been elected to St. Lawrence University's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the national academic honor society.
Corinne A. Becker of Saranac Lake; a member of the Class of 2013, Becker majors in biology and is a graduate of Saranac Lake High School.
Nicole K. Beers of Schroon Lake; a member of the Class of 2013, Beers majors in biology and is a graduate of Schroon Lake Central School.
Election to Phi Beta Kappa is one of the highest distinctions of academic achievement a student can obtain. Election is based on grade-point average and completion of appropriate credits toward a St. Lawrence University degree. To be considered, students must earn a 3.5 or better cumulative grade-point average by the close of their junior year, and have completed six semesters at St. Lawrence. Transfer students must have completed four semesters before they are eligible for consideration.
