To the editor:
Please accept this letter in support of Bob Bevilacqua's campaign to be supervisor of the town of Harrietstown.
How do I know Bob? Let me count the ways.
I know Bob as a devoted family man, someone who has raised his family here and who wants to provide opportunity for his grandchildren to live and thrive here as well.
I know Bob from being his customer, where I've always been treated fairly, straightforwardly and with respect. It takes hard work and lots of dedication to run a small business in the Adirondacks, qualities Bob has in spades.
I know Bob as someone with a terrible fault for a politician: He is far too humble to trumpet his own virtues and many accomplishments in public service. Bob brokered the deal by which the village has moved into the town hall, and he is the single biggest driving force behind the Daffest Derby, an annual event that has proven to be wildly successful. There are far too many positive accomplishments to be listed here.
I know Bob as a quiet, contemplative man, not easily rattled and always willing to listen to all sides of an issue. Bob is never the loudest voice in the room, but when he speaks, it is wise to listen, as what you'll hear has been well thought out and carries great weight.
I know Bob as a peer, having served with him on the town council. He was strikingly consistent in his desire to do his best for the taxpayer's interest in every situation, every single time.
I know Bob as one of his constituents, and I'm not sure I could be more confident in an elected official to do the right thing on my behalf.
Lastly, I know Bob as a conservative but very independent thinker who will not need the influence of others to lead Harrietstown successfully into the future.
If you know Bob like I do, make the easy choice in November.
