Lumberjacks volleyball sweeps Gouverneur

TUPPER LAKE - The Tupper Lake volleyball team picked up its third win of the season Tuesday with a three-game sweep over Gouverneur.

The Lumberjacks rolled in the first game with a 25-5 win, then went on to secure 25-23 and 25-22 victories in the second and third games.

Jessica Friend racked up 14 points from the serving line and Lexi Cassell had 13 to lead Tupper Lake. Friend also chipped in three kills and two digs, while Cassell had two digs.

Sarah Amell had six points and 11 assists and Sidney Kulzer had nine points to contribute for the Lumberjacks.

Tupper Lake improved to 3-8 on the season with the win.

GIRLS SOCCER

Canton 3, Tupper Lake 1

CANTON - The Tupper Lake girls soccer team traveled to Canton on Tuesday and came away with a 3-1 loss.

Madison Kelly accounted for the Lumberjacks only goal when she buried a penalty kick.

Emma Rexford had a goal and an assist and Kali Frank and Tori Daley each tallied to lead the way for the Golden Bears.

Tupper Lake is 6-3 on the season and Canton is 4-4.
