SARANAC LAKE - The North Country Community College men's soccer team fell 2-1 at home Monday to Jefferson Community College.
Graham Whalen netted both tallies in the opening half for Jefferson, which then held on for the victory after Winterson Joseph buried a shot for the Saiints 12:46 after intemission.
Both of Whalen's goals came in the later stages of the opening half. He put the Canoneers on the board with a goal at the 32:02 mark and then lifted them to a 2-0 cushion on a head ball just 18 seconds before intermission.

Joseph pulled NCCC to within a goal when he scored off an assist from Lars Lorenz, but the Saints couldn't come up with the equalizer as they dropped their fourth straight game and fell to 7-6.
The Saints held a 19-7 edge in shots over the Cannoneers, who improved to 3-8-2 with the victory.
Sam Lyndaker made six saves to earn the win in net for Jefferson. Beau Stanford recorded three stops in goal for the Saints.
Jason Aldrich and Kermar Farquharson each picked up single assists for the winners.
NCCC's men are back in action Wednesday to face Adirondack Community College. The game will be played on the Saints' athletic field with the opening kickoff slated for 4 p.m.
