To the editor:
I would like to respond to the letter submitted by Mr. Richard Miller.
It seems to me that Mr. Miller is less than well informed on the subject of the snowmobile industry. Both the federal and state governments hold all four major snowmobile manufacturers to very specific emissions and noise standards. They have not only met these standards but exceeded them in many instances. These advances in engine technology are more environmentally friendly and represent a better product for the consumer.
As an avid snowmobiler as well as motorcyclist, I have seen and heard all too often my beloved pastimes fall victim to these "loud and noisy" stereotypes.
But that's just me sounding my horn and ringing my bell.
