GLOUCESTER, Mass. - Mary Martinetti, 96, of 272 Washington St., Gloucester, Mass., died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Golden Living Nursing Home, Gloucester, Mass.
Born in Bloomingdale on March 12, 1916, she was the daughter of Antonio and Santa (Nasta) Alphonso. She married Odino Martinetti on Dec. 20, 1935, in South Londonderry, Vt. He predeceased her on April 16, 1999.
Mrs. Marinetti enjoyed knitting, sewing, refinishing furniture, antiquing, cooking, reading and playing bridge.
She is survived by two sons: Barry Martinetti and his wife Grace of Stoneham, Mass., and Dr. Terry Martinetti and his wife Carin of Manchester, Mass.; three grandchildren: Carly, Alexis and Alana; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; five brothers: Morris, Foster, Larry, Eugene and Antonio Alphonso; and five sisters: Julia Skiff, Anna Francois, Virginia Grew, Santa Elson and Yolanda Benware.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at St. Paul's Church in Bloomingdale. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery in Bloomingdale.
