Children and adults carve maple leaves on soap Wednesday at the Adirondack Carousel in Saranac Lake as part of a two-week after-school carving program for students in grades 4 to 6. The kids will also carve snake walking sticks and do “advanced” pumpkin carving, and their finished projects will be showcased at an Oct. 25 reception at the carousel.
