BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE - The Adirondack Museum presents Hidden History Tours at the Collection Storage and Study Center Friday, Sept. 7.
Tours will be held approximately every half-hour from 11 a.m. through 4 p.m.
These special curator-led tours will highlight the museum's boat collection - keeping with the boating theme as the 30th 90-Miler, aka Adirondack Canoe Classic, passes through Blue Mountain Lake that day.
Tours will also feature the rustic furniture collection, as the 25th Rustic Fair begins on Saturday at the museum.
Doreen Alessi, conservator and collections manager, and Hallie Bond, curator, will lead the tours.
The Collections Storage and Study Center holds a wide array of objects from the Adirondacks. Collections consist of boats, including power boats, canoes, kayaks, guideboats and unusual boats; traditional and rustic furniture; hand tools and machinery; large vehicles, including horse-drawn carriages and sleighs, snowmobiles, fire trucks and a Jitterbug; maple sugaring equipment; ice harvesting tools; and agricultural artifacts.
Tours are free to museum members and $10 for non-members; no pre-registration is necessary, simply register at the start of the tour.
The Collections Storage and Study Center is located at 8757 State Route 30, Blue Mountain Lake.
