To the editor:
Over the last two weeks, our family has experienced the realization of, "It takes a village to raise a child," and the same can be said for, "It takes a village to mourn a child."
We have been struggling on how to say thank you to everyone that assisted our family, whether it be through search efforts, donations to the Sawyer and Harper Fund set up for Seth's children, food, companionship or the infinite amount of thoughts and prayers.
If we tried to write all of you thank-you notes, we imagine it would total in the hundreds.
Please accept this letter as a token of our gratitude for everything each and every one of you has done.
Words cannot express the amount of support we felt (and continue to feel) during this difficult time. We are truly humbled.
Our only request is that you continue to support and pray for the families of loved ones who remain missing; may they have answers soon.
We hope no other family has to go through this pain, but please know we would be right there by your side.
