To the editor:
During my 20 years at the Adirondack Daily Enterprise I came to prize Dave Munn. When I first arrived, David worked on a linotype machine, a huge steel and lead monster that clanked incessantly and spat lead, often burning the operator's arms. Through it all he worked without complaint.
Then came the electronic age. While many of his co-workers struggled with the new technology, David embraced it, learning each new machine as it arrived for the next 35 years, one more complex machine after another. Then he would teach the rest of us.
Dave was a devoted employee and friend. I've missed him for a long time now, and now his passing makes me sad but honored to have known him.
