Adirondack Daily Enterprise

SOUTH PLATTSBURGH - Airborne Speedway begins the final weeks of the 2012 season Saturday with Modified Championship Night presented by Choice Furniture, Bimbo Bakeries, Precision Auto Care and Signs Now. A lucky ticketholder will win a recliner courtesy of Choice Furniture.

Todd Stone of Middlebury, Vt. and Pat McGrail of Candiac, Quebec enter Modified Championship Night separated by 10 points. Stone, the point leader, has won four races, including two special events that did not award weekly track championship points.

McGrail has four wins as well - all in regular season races.

The largest event of the season - a two-day race card - follows on Akwesasne Mohawk Casino weekend Saturday and Sunday September 8-9. The weekend's highlight is the $5,000-to-win Modified Shootout consisting of three 50-lap segments.

The Busch Mini Modified champion will be crowned Saturday.

Sunday's events will determine the 2012 Sportsman Modified, Limited Late Model and Renegade champions.

A 150-lap Enduro paying $1,500 to the winner is slated for Saturday, September 14 at 2 p.m.

The ACT Late Model Tour travels to Plattsburgh for the fall foliage 200 season finale Saturday, October 6.

The two-day Akwesasne Mohawk Casino schedule includes a live concert Saturday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. by Independent Country Music Association Awards nominee Jamie Lee Thurston. Several ticket options are available: two-day tickets including the concert ($25), Saturday racing only ($5), Saturday concert only ($10), Sunday racing only ($20).
