July 29: "Bending the Boundaries"

7:30 p.m. at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts.

Cost is $22 for adults and those 18 and under are admitted free as available. All seating is reserved, for tickets contact the LPCA box office at 518-523-2512.

Composers who push the envelope of creativity are featured: Villa Lobos in tribute to Bach Brazilian style, a Haydn Symphony with a surprising beginning and a false ending, and the magnificent power of Beethoven. Guest Artist Navah Perlman, who has many years of sharing the stage with some of the world's greatest chamber musicians and orchestras will perform Beethoven's Concerto No. 1.

This concert will be dedicated to Dr. Philip Albright, former Sinfonietta Double Bassist and Librarian.


August 1 "Price Chopper's Sailing Away"

7 p.m. - Lake Placid Sinfonietta Park Series concert in the Paul White Memorial Shell, Mid's Park, Lake Placid. Admission is free, donations accepted.

In the event of poor weather the concert will move to St. Agnes Church and begin at 7:15 p.m.

From the H.M.S. Pinafore to the Volga Boatmen to Percy Grainger's "Molly on the Shore," this concert is about all things nautical.
