SARANAC LAKE - The Bloomingdale Fire Department and the Elks Lodge #1508 teams advanced to the Major League's championship game of the Saranac Lake Youth Baseball Association with semifinal wins Thursday.
The top-ranked Bloomingdale Fire Department squad remained unbeaten and moved on with a 12-7 win over Teddy's Ice Cream in a contest played in Bloomingdale. Meanwhile, in Saranac Lake, the Elks Club mounted an amazing comeback to post a 15-14 victory over Upstate Auto.
In that game, the Elks plated 10 runs in their final at-bat to erase a 13-5 deficit and then held on after Upstate Auto pushed one run across the plate in the bottom of the sixth in a rally attempt. Upstate Auto had the bases loaded when the game ended on a ground out to Elks pitcher Jarrett Ashton.

Bloomingdale stayed perfect at 11-0 with the victory and the Elks improved to 8-4 with their win. The two teams will square off for the title Tuesday in Bloomingdale starting at 6 p.m.
Upstate Auto finished the season with a 7-4 mark and Teddy's Ice Cream ended its campaign with six wins and six losses.
The Minor League semifinals will take place Monday, with Sandy Hayes Realty taking on Agency Insurance and Ampersound facing off against Lake Placid Phillies. The championship game will be played on Wednesday.
