To the editor:
On June 15, I was privileged to hear the Northern Adirondacks Vocal Ensemble at St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake. The concert was exceptionally lovely, demonstrating a high level of skill and excellent voices. My favorite pieces were two from Mozart, including "Lachrymosa" (lacrimosa means weeping in Latin) from the Requiem Mass.
I understand that three pieces from Mozart, including the "Lachrymosa," will be sung by NAVE with the Lake Placid Sinfonietta in their all-Mozart concert July 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. That promises to be an amazing and thrilling performance. If you love choral music and appreciate Mozart - be there!
