Hilda "Bonnie" McClatchie passed peacefully from this world to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 26, 2012.

Bonnie was born Hilda Louise Stitley on March 27, 1926, in York, Pa., to Walter and Effie Boone Stitley. In 1941, she met a young soldier named Wayne McClatchie, whom she married on May 13, 1942. After World War II ended, she and Wayne relocated to Saranac Lake, where she remained for most of her life.

Bonnie was very active in the community and the First United Methodist Church. She served as a Hospital Auxiliary volunteer for more than 30 years and was active in the United Methodist Women, and other church committees. She also raised her family and cared for her sister, Ada, for several years.

After Wayne's retirement in 1986, they started the "snow bird" routine to Ocala, Fla. for a few years; that ended in 1991 when they settled permanently in Lake Waldena, Fla., where she remained until 2011, when she relocated to the Quarry in Vancouver, Wash., to be near her son Brian and his family.

Bonnie is survived by her son, Brian (Cooki) McClatchie of Camas, Wash. Bonnie was the proud grandmother of three granddaughters, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne, in 1995 and her daughter, Gail (Doug) Swinyer in 2009.

No services will be held, at her request.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the First United Methodist Church of Saranac Lake are suggested.
